The rejuvenated LA Blogs posts weeks two of their LA Insight questions. I post my answers because hey, it's better than scouring the internet for stories to discuss.
1. Where is the last place you ate out?
I just had friends in town and we ate out a ridiculous amount. The actual last place was Junior's Deli on Westwood (mmm...matzo soup and latkes) where the people watching was superb (a potential hooker with a mentally handicapped john somehow infiltrated the normally senior citizen crowd). That morning though, we were at Jinky's in Studio City, for the best breakfast in town.
2. How often do you eat out?
Way too much.
3. Where is the place you eat most?
Well, the News Cafe at Fox, but that doesn't count. I'd say either California Fresh, La Bottega, Lulu's Alibi, or Aroma Cafe.
4. Where do you tell your friends that they "have to try"?
Spark Woodfire Cooking. Not a bad thing on the menu, and it's a warm, relaxed place.
5. What dish do they have to order when they get there?
The lasagna is really good, but so are the pizzas. Any of the salads for the delicious croutons.
6. Where do you eat when money is not a concern?
Bandera. Not THAT pricey, but pricey enough, and money is always a concern.
If I'm feeling really crazy, I guess the Palm would be an option. I have never felt that crazy though.
7. Where do you eat when money is tight?
Chung King (order it in), Sunnin, Alejo's.
8. What restaraunt have you wanted to try but haven't been to yet?
For a long time it was Caffe Pinguini but I finally went there...I have to find a new place to pine over.
what if we've been in Jinky's at the same time and didn't know it? Sometimes the web creeps me out.
