to cat or not to cat (also: what's wrong with this picture?)
Recently, the Solomonster and I have been offered the opportunity to adopt an already trained, declawed and neutered cat. We're all about getting a pet, but are we ready to let the dog dream die, we wondered (and still do)? Does the cat preclude the dog dream, and is the dog dream ever going to become a reality anyways, given our living space and schedules?
In all my wondering, I engaged in one of my favorite masochistic activities: "browsing" dogs on the Los Angeles Animal Shelter and Amanda Foundation websites. It was at the latter that I found the picture below, the perspective of which blows my mind. Is that a dog, or...umm...an impossibly large dog?
Also, why is it being held by a pink ghost?

Cats will eat Wade when he dies. You'll come home and they'll be eating Wade's face right off.

dogs are a great concept, but cats rule....they are soooooo much less maintenance! although I love dogs, but, the thought of having one 24-7 is like going back to having a toddler in the house (all the time) whereas cats - whatever!!! I have 5 - they love me (on their own terms, of course but they do love me - evidenced by 3 sleeping next to me each night and at least one on my lap when I'm on the computer) cats pretty much take care of themselves - shit in a box and I don't have to worry (or fork over mucho dinaro should I go away for a bit!
hey.... it's eat or be eaten...if you're dead so what you might as well help feed fluffy!

Fuck cats. Sure you have to walk dogs (or have a backyard to banish them to like me) but wouldn't you rather have a pet that gives a shit when you come home? Or would you rather just be used for your food?

...and the person who was watching the cat until it got adopted decided to adopt it themselves. Must've been one awesome cat.
Meanwhile, am I the only one freaked out by that dog? It looks huge!!!
