Every once in awhile on American Idol, someone chooses the perfect song. Last night, that someone was Chris.

Styx. Renegade. It was brilliant. He's safe. I'm not even going to mention him in the rest of this recap because, long arm of the law/hangman aside, he's untouchable.

Meanwhile back on earth, we have Elliott, Paris, McPhee, and Taylor, who each sang one of their two songs well. Katharine's floor-slinking should keep her around. Taylor will be safe because he's crazy. This puts Elliott and Paris back in the bottom two, and I think Paris heads home tonight. She's so consistently good that people aren't impressed by her anymore. Is that fair? Not really. Then again, she probably could have put herself in a better position with, I don't know...a Styx song?
