we're tired of it!

With all due respect to Randy Newman, and fully acknowledging my love for LA and the streets therein, there's got to be another call and response song about this town. Something to get the fans going without making them feel like they're a banana clip away from the 80's. Unfortunately everything I come up with is entirely unyellable. For example, the Kings score a goal, and the pa system plays Soul Coughing's Screenwriter's Blues. "It is 5AM", M. Doughty sings, "And you are listening to Los Angeles!!" the hockey fans scream back. Not exactly inspiring. But infinitely better than my backup, "An ocean's gargled vomit on the shores"..."Los Angeles, I'm yours!" (wooo. go team).

Any suggestions?

There's that great Frank Black song, but again, "I live in Los Angelessss"
sung in slow dreamy chorus style isn't exactly a call to arms either.

Or how about: "She...had to leave" bam bam bam bam "Los Angeles!!!"

How about "Moving to L.A." by Art Brut?

Sample lyric:
"When I get off the plane, first thing I'm going to do is strip NAKED TO THE WAIST--and ride my Harley-Davidson up and down Sunset Strip." The song also rhymes "Hennessy" with "Morrissey," which is double-plus awesome.

There's "Hollywood Freaks" by Beck. While it's specifically about Hollywood and not LA proper, it would be great to hear thousands of people quoting it in unison: "Touch it real good if you want a piece. Party people know I’m that type of freak."

Another one is Tom Waits' "Heartattack and Vine" that has the sports-appropriate line "There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk."

Mmm, tweak my nipple.
