medicore to shitty movies i always find myself watching
...much to the Solomonster's chagrin. Objectively, I can admit that none of these movies are like, Ben-Hur or anything. But for whatever reason, they never fail to draw me in. Is it familiarity? They're often on basic cable. Is it a generational thing? Some of these can easily be attributed to random jr. high/high school movie theatre memories. Do others share my obsessions? I guess I'll soon find out!
The List (to be amended as I remember more, I'll leave it up to you to decide which of these are shitty, and which are merely mediocre)

Dude, Airborne! I loved that and for the longest time my brother and I refused to learn Jack Blacks name, preferring to call him "Augie". Also, that stemmed a Seth Green crush that lasted through the rest of high school.

Career Opportunities began a love affair for me with Jennifer Connelly, roller skates, and Jennifer Connelly's breasts. And Hackers, 'nuff said.

Yeah, Jennifer Connelly is seriously busty in Career Opportunities. And a creepy young Dermot Mulroney LOVES it.
Erika, thank you SO MUCH for validating Airborne, that's definitely on the shittier end. Let's race down Devil's Backbone together in a show of support for "Augie."

Airborne was the world's first Rock n' Rollerblade movie. And it was directed by Rob Bowman, who brought the world "Elektra" and America">http://www.americawestandasone.com">America We Stand As One.

HACKERS does not hold a candle to WAR GAMES. Period. Ally Sheedy in her red jogging suit? That's what I'm talking about. Second hottest girl in the world!

Okay, Wargames is clearly an excellent, Oscar caliber movie, which is why it did not make this list.

Just One of the Guys - I loved loved loved Clayton Rohner (sp?) Too bad his career didn't go anywhere. I do love seeing him when he turns up though.

Hackers made me fall in love with Angelina Jolie. For that, I will always love it. And it's still pretty friggin' sweet. And it's held up better than a lot of other tech movies [Cloak & Dagger, anyone?] Or maybe I'm just a certifiable dork.

To this day, I can recite the Airborne scene in which Snake introduces himself to the entire class.
