countdown to march the tenth

Just five days short of the ides, Fox will be airing THE BIGGEST OC EPISODE EVER. Not because of The OC, and any awesomeness contained therein, but because of all the delightful tie-in debuts. First, Beck will provide the soundtrack for the entire show, with old favorites and exclusive new tunes off his forthcoming album (reminiscent of the Freaks and Geeks solely Who scored episode, no?). Second (brace yourself, Seth Cohens of the world), the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith trailer will premiere sometime during the teen drama.

I know people lament all the product placement/crossover promotion that is infiltrating entertainment. But having seen the scenes for March 10th, I think it's a good thing that they're heaping on these extras. "Mallpisode" looked like a lame-ass return to the same exact questions we were asking in the first show of the season: Will Ryan and Marissa get back together? Will Seth and Summer? I don't want to feel as though everything in between now and then has been a wash. And if it has, I at least want to be distracted, tapping my feet and contemplating how all those Jedi die.
