brad pitt, fish eggs, and the return of reality tuesdays
Though not nearly the disappointment of last week, Big Brother and The Amazing Race still provided a number of frustrations. First, on Big Brother, Brad Pitt-obsessed Jase and string-around-the-elbows-wearing Scott continued their dominance of the game, turning Drew's seemingly heartening nominations of Holly and Nakomis into yet another opportunity for homoerotic bonding and assertion of four horseman force. I am not a Diane supporter, but she got screwed last night. Also, my earlier hopes that Holly was a ditz, but the nice fun kind, have completely been dashed. That voice, that hair, those clothes...she's unbearable.
I keep on forgetting to mention (no longer!) that great recaps of the live footage that I would never pay for but happily read about are available at reality news online.
Onto the cadillac of reality, The Amazing Race. Is there any question left that Mirna is a dirty whore? Charla, honey, you're great. You're a little lady and you're doing your thing. But I want you the heck off this show so I don't have to deal with your cousin anymore. Meanwhile, the caviar eating roadblock had me loving/hating some teams simultaneously (I'm still on a search for a new favorite, after the loss of Jim and Marsha). Christie started out strong but then psyched herself out so much it made me crazy. Thankfully Colin redeemed the team by being incredibly sweet and supportive (a rarity for dating couples on the race- they might be the new OandU fave). The Christians, after screwing over everyone in the competition ran into some serious issues with the fish eggs, almost garnering my sympathy before I remembered their sneakiness. Meanwhile, Chip was a stud, he did the challenge right: fast, and without thought. Eventually, older couple Bob and Joyce were eliminated. Frankly, it was the perfect way for those two to go: not an embarassing first, but out before any injury or weird-old-man fights (I just had a horrible vision of Bob telling people to "bring it on").

Remember this year's motto:DNA! If Adria gets the boot, Natalie enters the house, making the opposing sides equal again! I can't wait to see the look on Brad's, I mean, Jas's face. Oh, those sneaky Big Bro producers.

Weird to have a crush on Phil? Heavens, no!
Weird that Phil continues to allow her to hug him on The Mat? Extremely.

I loved that Phil actually said (paraphrased) "Oh you're going to hug me again?" when Mirna made her move.
